FUNCTIONAL HEALTH TESTS

Functional tests are specific laboratory tests which aim to evaluate the health status of an individual by measuring how the the body is functioning, rather than simply looking for indications of disease.

There are many Functional Health Tests available which give an insight into levels of important nutrients, hormones and biochemical co-factors. They can reveal functional imbalances and how these might be underlying specific health issues. The results can shed light on complicated health concerns or just give an indiction of what we need to do in order to achieve better health.

To put it simply, it's about seeing what's going on under the bonnet!

All of the tests samples are taken by you, in the comfort of your own home. They involve a very simple collection of bodily fluids (saliva/urine/pinprick blood sample or stool) using the kit and easy instructions provided.

These tests are in no way supposed to substitute for doctor's advice or pathology testing and are used to identify imbalance and dysfunction rather than to diagnose.

Not everyone will need or want to do tests as part of a consultation and that is fine. It is not a necessary part of the process but can be a big help. It is always a good idea to let your doctor or primary healthcare provider know what you are doing.
